Doctor recalls agony in Haiti

Two weeks removed from a trip to earthquake-ravaged Haiti, the images remain stamped on Dr. Dominick Grosso’s mind. They are stark, compelling and haunting.

“I take care of injured people in the United States, but not to this extent,” said Grosso, who practices internal medicine at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank. “People had amputations, a leg and an arm missing, a crushed pelvis. One woman who was stuck in a wheelchair with both legs amputated said, “If if wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t be here.’ ”
