Sans Souci Palace & Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church – Milot, Haiti

We are celebrating Milot, Haiti, home of Hôpital Sacré Coeur! Milot, Haiti is a rural town in northern Haiti and is home to two prestigious landmarks: the ruins of the Sans Souci Palace and Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church.

Built in the early 1800’s for ruler Henri Christophe, Sans Souci Palace is currently in ruins as a result of an earthquake in 1842, and has never been reconstructed.

Built in 1804, Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church in Milot is one of the oldest churches in Haiti. Designed in classic Basilica style, the distinctive, beautiful dome routinely draws awe-filled appreciation whether viewed from inside the sanctuary or from a distance.
