We’re Singing Your Praises!

HSC-3

Over 50,000 People Will Sing YOUR Praises…
When You Sponsor a Haitian Medical Worker

Right now, someone’s loved ones are praying their child, parent, or grandparent won’t die or be disabled because of a lack of medical care. In Haiti, without a local hospital with skilled medical professionals, people die. Many, many people die. Children die in shameful, horrifying numbers.

Parents die leaving their children to take their chances living on the streets. In the prime of their life, women and men become benched by disabling injuries or diseases that went untreated. People go blind for want of preventative care or simple treatments.

It doesn’t have to be this way.

Since 1986, Hôpital Sacré Coeur has served the 250,000 people in the Milot region with dedication, skill, and love. Through full service medical and public health education outreach programs, over 100,000 people a year receive the treatment and education necessary to stay alive and live productive, hopeful lives.

Mothers give birth to their children in safe environments. Breadwinners receive the medications they need so they can continue feeding their families. Children have a chance at a healthy future.

A core of dedicated, competent staff secures Hôpital Sacré Coeur’s place as a Haitian Success Story.

Your sponsorship of them makes this very notable success possible!

JustinBy sponsoring the work of a Hôpital Sacré Coeur physician, you directly impact the delivery of quality healthcare to Haitians in desperate need of medical care. You also provide employment to a staff professional, who in turn models for Haitians the reality of educational opportunity and a vocational dream come true.

You also share the credit for such life saving miracles as the one witnessed last month, when HSC staff physician, Dr. Justin Geffrard, delivered an abdominal pregnancy — an extremely rare success for any hospital in the world.

Or when HSC’s Chief of Cardiology Service, Dr. Jean-Pierre Brisma successfully performed a cardioversion and allowed a man in his thirties to live a more fulfilling, productive life.

The physician who benefits from your generosity will serve an average of 150 patients a week.

150 people each week who have a chance to have a healthy life.

Just last month, the new dental clinic suites in the Notre Dame Outpatient Clinic opened their doors. Hôpital Sacré Coeur now has a rare-for-Haiti, full service modern dental clinic. As you know, the key to a successful dental clinic is its dedicated, competent staff.

DentalYour gracious sponsorship gift places a qualified dentist in the clinic full-time for a year. Thanks to YOU, children and adults in Northern Haiti don’t have to live with dental pain, broken teeth, abscesses, or debilitating gum disease. Accident victims who visit the hospital’s emergency room have immediate access to dental repairs. People with serious jaw and lower facial disabilities have the option of a more normal life.

You know the unbearable pain caused by dental emergencies.

Now, by sponsoring a dentist for one year, you can provide glorious relief for Haitians who have had to go unspeakable amounts of time without treatment. You know they are grateful for your gift!

NurseEveryone knows the bulk of day-to-day patient care lies in the hands of the nurse. And a nurse’s hands are busy! They provide skilled delivery of medications, treatments, and wound care. Nurses like ICU/PACU nurse, Vanessa Evariste, who volunteer medical teams reported “was a standout” and provided exemplary skills causing the patients to “thrive in her care.”

Your kind gift places one nurse at Hôpital Sacré Coeur for one year; a year’s worth of medical skill, caring and comfort for the average of 780 patients and their families a HSC nurse sees in one year.

That’s a lot of nursing back to health and wholeness …all thanks to YOU!

Hospitals are busy places that require lots of trained professionals to deliver full-service patient care. Your significant sponsorship of an ancillary staff member will provide a year’s employment for one of the unsung heroes and heroines of the Hôpital Sacré Coeur who diligently work behind the scenes to keep the hospital running smoothly.

You give the gift of employment and in turn they will devote their attention to doing the best they can to keep Hôpital Sacré Coeur one of Haiti’s best run hospitals!

AncilaryYou and I both want to be good stewards of our money and get the most value for our hard earned dollars.

When you give a staff sponsorship, here’s what you get:

• You provide steady employment for a year for a healthcare professional.

• You are directly responsible for ensuring quality healthcare and preventative health education to the 250,000 people who live in the Milot region.

• You give Haitian men and women the chance to regain their health and provide for their families.

• You help abate the cycle of needless suffering and death in the poorest country in the Western hemisphere.
