Churches and Synagogues Unite to Benefit the Children of Haiti and Their Families
On Sunday night, February 21, leading stars from Broadway, The Metropolitan
Opera, The New York Philharmonic, and Carnegie Hall will perform a benefit Concert at
The Bergen Performing Arts Center to “Send Our Love to Haiti”.
This benefit concert, underwritten by The Presbyterian Church at Tenafly and
Temple Sinai of Bergen, will send 100 percent of the proceeds to Church World Service,
United Jewish Appeal of North Jersey and Catholic Relief Services to further their relief
work in.Haiti, and to the Reformation Hope Orphanage in Port au Prince and Hospital
Sacre Coeur in Milot, Haiti.
Honorary Co-Chairs of the event are The Reverend Dr. Eileen Lindner of The
Presbyterian Church at Tenafly and Rabbi Jordan Millstein of Temple Sinai of Bergen.
“We’re blessed with an abundance of talent, energy, and generosity of spirit in Manhattan
and Bergen County,” said Dr. Lindner. “This initiative began when one person asked,
‘What can we do to helpT” Rabbi Millstein added, “I am confident that the citizens of
Bergen County will support this evening of inspiring music.”
Tickets go on sale Friday, February Sill at all Ticketmaster locations and at the
Bergen PAC Theater box office located at 30 North Van. Brunt Street, Englewood, NJ
(201-227-1030). Ticket prices range from $29.00 to $99.00. A limited number of
Preferred Tickets are available directly through the Presbyterian Church at Tenafly and
Temple Sinai of Bergen for $250.00 (Silver Sponsor) and $500.00 (Gold Sponsor).
The concert begins at 8:00 PM on Sunday night; a cocktail reception will be held
at 6:30 PM at the Grand Cru Wine Bar in Englewood for Gold and Silver sponsors. In
addition. Gold sponsors will be invited to a post-show party at the Wine Bar to meet
members of the cast.
