Essential Vitamins in Tasty Treats

I care for twenty to thirty children, between the ages of two to five years, at the Nutrition Center every day. Most of these little ones lack the essential vitamins to maintain health and strength. They have little energy, dry scaly skin, poor quality of hair and sad little faces. Their parents are without work and have no money to buy nourishing food for their children. Unlike other countries, Haiti has no welfare benefits to help its poor.

It is very sad to see these children suffer from hunger while there is so much food wasted in the rest of the world. My aim is to help these little ones regain their health and strength and help restore their dignity. Many good people have me helped in this work and I thank God for them every day.

The children are given a good meal of protein, carbohydrates and fats every day along with two nourishing snacks. A good friend and his family provide the protein bars and protein gels. The bars have forty grams of protein and the gels have fifteen grams of protein. All are a tremendous help and the children just love these treats and literally come running when they see me go to the press for the snacks! Another friend provides vitamin “C” lollipops which I give the children when going home.

These treats are donated and are greatly appreciated but, unfortunately, we often run out of same as we have very many children and the need is great.

If you have any friends out there who would like to help these little ones, please ask them to donate any of these treats as they are a great source of energy and bring joy to mother and baby. The lollipops can be bought at Amazon and in other stores across the US.

Thank you.
