Washington, D.C. Girl Scouts Raise Funds for Hopital Sacre Coeur!

Washington, D.C. area Girl Scout Troop 4566 held a cookie sale to help Hopital Sacre Coeur. When the girls heard of the devastation in Haiti, they all agreed to use the cookie proceeds they earned to help the hospital.

After watching a video about the hospital, visiting the CRUDEM Web site, and speaking with CRUDEM Board member and long time volunteer, Dr. Richard Perry, the girls launched their campaign. Led by troop leader, Karen Gilday, the scouts made posters to educate the public about post-earthquake Haiti and the miraculous work being done at CRUDEM’s Haitian hospital. Then the scouts hit the streets to sell cookies.

The weather didn’t cooperate this year, but were not deterred! They put their warm clothes on and sold cookies all over the Washington DC area. There efforts paid off as they raised much needed dollars to support the on-going medical relief efforts in the wake of the worst earthquake in Haitian history.

CRUDEM/Hopital Sacre Coeur salutes these fine young women!
